Anycubic Teases Kobra 4: Budget Multi-Color Printing Coming Soon
Source: Anycubic OfficialAnycubic posted a short teaser video on their social channels this week showing a printer printing in four colors simultaneously — and the silhouette strongly resembles an updated Kobra design.
Multi-Color Goes Mainstream
Until now, accessible multi-color printing has been dominated by Bambu Lab’s AMS system (starting at $349 for the A1 Mini combo). Anycubic appears to be targeting the same market but at an even lower price point.
The teaser shows what appears to be a direct-drive extruder with automatic filament switching — likely a built-in solution rather than a separate accessory box like the AMS.
What to Expect
Based on Anycubic’s pricing history, the Kobra 4 with multi-color could land at $350-400, significantly undercutting Bambu Lab. Key expected features:
- Direct-drive extruder with multi-filament switching
- Automatic bed leveling (standard on Kobra line)
- PEI spring steel build plate
- 220×220×250mm build volume (similar to Kobra 3)
- Wi-Fi connectivity (finally)
Release Date
No official date yet, but Anycubic’s teaser cycles typically last 2-3 weeks before a full launch. Expect an announcement by late July 2026.
The Big Picture
If Anycubic delivers reliable multi-color printing at $350, it would be a watershed moment for budget 3D printing. The technology that was once only available on $1,000+ machines is rapidly democratizing.
